Keystrokes data consist of keystrokes and mouse movements. AgentGuardian differentiates the raw keystrokes data including functional keys like shift, ctrl, backspace, mouse clicking and all other alphanumeric keys. AgentGuardian presents this keystrokes data as a Raw Data and Formatted Data in the dashboard. Raw Data is the actual information recorded by the AgentGuardian client while Formatted data is the interpretation of the AgentGuardian client based on the raw data.
How can keystroke data help me evaluate a remote user's working performance?
One of the information provided in the keystroke data is RPM. This is the measure of keystrokes input of a user per a given length of time. The higher RPM is, the greater the activity. But sometimes this is not enough to conclude user's performance [there are good and bad keystroke data as you can see from a sample screenshot of keystroke data below].
A user maybe holding down a certain key in his keyboard to create an impression that he has high activity during the day.Notice that this is not generating sensible formatted data for keystroke.
An advice to administrators
Always match keystroke data to the active desktop screenshot on the give period of time. A user maybe pretending to work by presenting an active window of possible work but his keystroke data may show otherwise.
Screenshot shows user browsing through his projects but has a hidden Notepad application where he is typing a series of '3' keys

AgentGuardian keeps track on the status of the remote workers (online, busy, away, on break, out for meal, in meeting) from the time they signed-in until they signed-out or exited their AgentGuardian client software . A dropdown list of statuses are given on his AgentGuardian client software. If you have personal things to do like checking your email or Facebook account, you could set to 'On Break' and AgentGuardian would stop capturing your activity such as screenshots and keystrokes.
Administrators can track remote user's working status through the status logs in the dashboard. The status logs lets you have a detailed information regarding your remote user's time-in and time-out, break time and idle times. An overview of his worktime distribution is also presented in pie charts and bar graphs.
- Alive – User is actively working on his workstation, having keystrokes and mouse activities
AgentGuardian considers statuses: Online, Busy, Out for meal, and In meeting as 'Alive Status'. When the user did not have keystroke or mouse activities for 4 minutes, AG will automatically set these statuses to 'Away'.
- Away – User has been away from the computer after a specific duration. AgentGuardian is currently set to change alive status to Away after 4 minutes of no activity ( no mouse movement or keystrokes recorded)
- On Break – This is a status that is set manually by the remote user. Monitoring is disabled when this status is active, thus, keystrokes and screenshots will not be displayed on the dashboard. Note that AgentGuardian will not consider the time when the user is in 'On Break' as a working time of the user.
Work Time Distribution chart is the pie chart presentation of the remote user's status log history. Here you can view how remote user's statuses (alive, away, on break)are distributed throughout the day as well as the total time allocated on a specified status.
Green color indicates that the user is actively working on his workstation. Yellow color indicates that the user is idle/away from keyboard. Remote user status is automatically set to 'Away' when agentguardian detects no keystroke data for four minutes. Tan color indicates that the user is on 'On Break Status'.
- Alive – User is actively working on his workstation, having keystrokes and mouse activities

AgentGuardian allows remote users to immediately post updates about their work by changing the status message on their AgentGuardian software client.
These notes are compiled monthly and can be accessed by administrators through the dashboard.

AgentGuardian Live Monitor Dashboard provides you an Activity Chart Window that allows you to view the graphical interpretation of remote user’s daily keystrokes data, screenshots and timesheet activity.
- Keystroke Chart - The Keystroke Chart displays how much the user has typed during the day. The Keystroke Chart gives a rough idea of what times during the working day the remote user is busy on his workstation.
- Screenshots Chart - The Screenshot Chart displays the instances a screenshot of the user’s desktop was taken. The presence of a vertical line indicates a screen shot was taken at that point in time. Normally, AgentGuardian takes a screenshot every 5 minutes. Absence of the vertical bar can mean the user logged out, or was on break.
- Timesheet Chart - The Timesheet chart is a simpler graphical representation of the status log history. A continuous green bar that stretches towards the right indicates that the user is logged in on AgentGuardian. Yellow indicates that the status of the user is 'Away'. Tan indicates that the user is in 'On Break' status. Breaks on the bar indicates that the user signed out from AG.
